November 17, 2015: Discuss Works Cited and Hand-Out for Easy Bib, as well as an example of a Unit 4 paper.
November 11, 2015: Discuss Thesis Statements, Topic Sentences and Contrast/Compare. For next class, write your introduction, assemble your five summaries together (if you are going to use them) using transitions in between, and write three synthesis paragraphs following your summaries.
November 9, 2015: Group workshops. For next class: Finish synthesis charts and all five summaries must be ready.
November 4, 2015: Review PowerPoint on Synthesis and class handout. Hand out Synthesis Chart. Assignment: Read the four remaining chapters recommended on syllabus (43-45), and write two more summaries. In Class: Group Workshop
November 2, 2015: Write Reflection for Unit 3. Discuss Unit 4 Prompt. Review handouts. Discuss Blog opportunities. For next class, you must have completed two summaries of articles out of Culture. Remember, choosing articles out of the same section of the book is likely to make your final paper easier, as your task is to synthesize five articles together, comparing and contrasting their views on the culture of __________________. Read Chapter 46 out of the Norton book.
